Our beaches are the bridge between our world and the ocean. We must be attentive in how we treat these stretches of land. As per the guidelines provided by the District under Project Recover, Rotaract Club of Wellawatte organized a Beach Clan Up at Wellawatte Beach on December 01, 2019 from 6:30am onwards by joining hands with Wellawatte Nithyakalyani Jewellery, Wellawatte Police and the Interact Club of St. Peter’s College. It was a huge success where 100 plus participants took part in the clean-up. Masks and gloves were provided to all the participants. The entire coastal line was cleared by picking up the dirt and separating them. At the end of the event, garbage collectors from Clean Tech (Pvt) Ltd visited the Wellawatte Beach to collect all the garbage. At the end of the clean up all the participants were provided with refreshments. The refreshments as well as the items required for the clean up were provided by our Sponsor Nithyakalyani Jewellery.
