Rotaract is the largest youth movement in Sri Lanka where the Rotaract Club of Wellawatte had been a part of it for over three decades. Rotaract emphasizes grooming budding young professionals to use their expertise to do greater good for the community while building them to excel at their careers. The Rotaract Club of Wellawatte is one of the most vibrant Rotaract clubs in the R.I District 3220 Sri Lanka & Maldives. 

It was chartered on the 30th of June 1987 by the charter President Rtn. PHF Nalin Fernando sponsored by the Rotary Club of Mount Lavinia. This prestigious club has produced five District Rotaract Representatives namely: Rtn. PHF Nalin Fernando, Rtn. PP Chamila Wickramasinghe, Rtn. PP Subramaniam Sudhakaran, Rtn. PP Jegatheesan Pirrasanth, Rtn. PHF Sathyendra Tharmakularajasingham. This club has also produced innumerable number of conscientious leaders to the Rotaract and Rotary movement of R.I District 3220 – Sri Lanka & Maldives. 

We are a community based club with members who are students and young professionals between the age of 18 – 30 years. We are well known for our signature community service project “I am a Special Child” a talent show for the differently abled children and also for the annual Wella Pongal celebration of Pongal Festival with all our friends from various communities in Sri Lanka.
