Content Factory

The joint project “Content Factory” conducted by the host Rotaract clubs of ACBT, University of Kelaniya and Wellawatte along with the Public Relations Team in the District was conducted under the avenue of public image. Public relations is an avenue that plays a major role when it comes to advertising our projects  and especially with a pandemic revolving around globally, almost all of the events were converted to be  virtual ones, which meant that targeting the correct audience and using different tactics of social media  became very important. Keeping these thoughts in mind the key points to be discussed in this project were brainstormed and narrowed down to. Content Factory was mainly based on “Social media Marketing” under the vast topic of Public relations. The project focused on three key areas in regards to being successful in the public relations aspect as a whole.

The key areas were;
How effective public relations strategies can be conducted through non-profit organizations?
How to approach the social media market?
Effective tips to use while conducting a PR plan.

There were two parts for this project. First was the awareness phase that was conducted which taught about smart tips which could come in handy when conducting PR for projects. This phase was where flyers were shared across through the platform of WhatsApp, WhatsApp statuses and Instagram stories. The second part of the project was a webinar where three well renowned personalities who related to public relations came on board with us to speak on different topics. This phase can also be known as the most important phase of this project. These people were; Mr. Adin Mathitharan - Head of Marketing at Xyicon. Mr. Ashan Kumar - Founder/Chairman of PRWire.Mr. Hamza Haniffa - CEO at Imagery Digital Studios and Founder of BRO.

The moderator who volunteered for the project was one of our very own Rotaractors; Rtr. Venisha Dewsurendra, joint PR director of the Rotaract Club of ACBT. The project was conducted through the online platforms; Zoom, Facebook Live and YouTube Live as we are still facing a pandemic and gathering people would not be appropriate. However, the project was mainly conducted for all the PR directors in the Rotaract District 3220 and to all other Rotaractors who are interested in this topic. However, with all requirements being kept ready, the project was executed and concluded successfully with the rough participation of 125 participants in overall.
