Broken Crayons Still Colour

Mental Health is important at every stage of life. From childhood and adolescence through adulthood, mental health plays a crucial role in our lives. Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being which affects the way we think, how we feel and how we act. It also helps us to control how we handle stress, relate to others, and make some important choices in our lives. Being healthy does not only mean to be from illnesses. It is a mixture of physical, mental and social well-being. When an individual experiences mental health problems, their thinking mood, thinking pattern, and especially their behavior could be severely affected. Many elements contribute to mental health problems such as: Biological factors such as genes, Major Life experiences such as trauma or abuse, Family History, rapid social change,  stressful work conditions, gender discrimination, social exclusion, unhealthy lifestyle practices etc.

After a thorough look back on our Rotaract journeys, the Rotaract Club of Wellawatte identified that Rotaract as a movement has helped individuals overcome stressful work conditions and rapid social change. To enlighten the wider community on the above aspect and encourage them to be part of the serving community which also brings a joyful moment to our life, we the Rotaract Club of Wellawatte decided to organize 'Broken Crayons Still Colour' - a project for the Rotaractors across globe to share their own stories of how Rotaract has helped them overcome these issues.
