Break-A-Way 2020

Break A Way is an annual Professional Development project by the Rotaract Club of Wellawatte to recruit new members to the club as well as increase the rapport between the new and old members. Break A Way 2020 was held on October 18th from 04.30PM onwards via Google meet online platform.

The usually conducted physical session was switched to the virtual platform to aid the recovery and prevention of spread  of COVID 19. It was decided that Rtr.Jonathan will chair the project while Rtr.Aadhil will work as his subordinate. An initial discussion was held to understand how this event can be virtually conducted. Each committee member was given a task which involves group and individual activities. Ice breaker, Crossword puzzle & scavenger hunt were decided to be the main events of the evening. Once the member confirmations are received, the members were randomly divided into 5 groups and a respective committee member was assigned as their mentor. Each team members were personally given a particular clue to identify their group members and gather themselves. A crossword puzzle was created with elements related to Rotaract to check their initial knowledge on Rotaract. After the completion of the puzzle, the teams were taken through the puzzle to give a better insight on it. Scavenger hunt was the core element to the project where it gave a quality time for each group member to build a team spirit among themselves via solving each mystery. The event also had our very own IPP Rtr.Kumararuban addressing the gathering on his Rotaract journey with the Rotaract Club of Wellawatte. Break A Way 2020 concluded around 7.00PM with an official snapshot to mark our successful presence on the virtual world.
